Centerville Recycling: Opt Out

Centerville took the bait and passed a mandatory recycling program.  HOWEVER, residents who don’t want to pay for it, do not have to.  If you don’t want to pay for someone else’s interest/hobby, the city council will allow you to opt out.

Currently, I’m not sure how the opt out process will work.  It may be as simple as filling out a form (or letter) and submitting it with your city utility bill.  Whatever it is, I will try to find out the process and post it here when it becomes available.

Finally, a big warning: Watch the council like a hawk.  If too many people opt out, they will probably slip through a rule change requiring everyone to pay, like it or not.  Bountiful did so when people’s attention was turned.  Do not trust them!
