Utah Attourney General Mark Shurtleff On Identity Theft

It is always nice when you discover something you had missed.  This has been out for a while (since October, apparently) but the information is still current and useful.

The presentation is fairly long (about 40 minutes) but is quite informative about identity theft.  During the presentation, Shurtleff notes how illegal immigration contributes to identity theft, describes illegal immigrant-driven identity theft as “big problem”.  He also discusses mortgage fraud perpetuated via illegal immigrants which lead (as a couple of examples) to a five and seventeen year old “buying homes”.  Unfortuneatley, for the seventeen year old, that lead to being denied a student loan.

The presentation is a fairly good overview of identity theft, in general and includes some worthwhile tips to protect yourself.  It is well worth the viewing time.
