Rep Bill Wright Introduces Bill By Insulting Legal Immigrants and US Citizens

A few days ago, Representative Wright unveiled his Sutherland Institute backed “guest worker” bill.  It is yet another in a line of bills geared to provide amnesty for illegal immigrants living in Utah.  One thing, however, that sets apart Rep. Wright’s bill unveiling from others’ is his use of derision for working legal immigrant’s and US citizens:

Wright, R-Holden, said employers should have the right to access and hire the most productive employees.

“It’s about productivity. We as a people aren’t productive anymore, so we’re going to require employers to hire people who aren’t productive?” Wright said. “This isn’t a conservative principle.”

…Wright characterized [Robles’] bill as “going too far” in developing a bureaucracy and requiring employers to look for citizens to fill a job before tapping the undocumented population.

Apparently, citizens and legal immigrants are just a bunch of unproductive slobs.  We’re all George Constanza, baby!

If, however, you can get up from your crumb-ridden easy chair for a moment – take a look at Rep. Sandstrom’s HB70 – Illegal Immigration Enforcement Act as an alternative, contact your Representative and Senator and ask them to support his bill.
